He might be known as one of the world’s best high stakes cash game players but the last 48 hours have signalled a new era in Viktor Blom’s poker career.

While he’s not usually one to mix it up with the online tournament fraternity, Blom has demonstrated that his talents are equally suited to the variant.

His first victory came in SCOOP’s second event, the $215 NLHE freezeout. After battling his way through 8,239 players he finally claimed his first online title, along with $247,200 after beating Canada’s “RaisingRay91” heads-up.

Just a few hours later he was in action again, this time in Day 2 of the $530 rebuy event.

Having started the day third in chips, he soon jumped to the top of the chip counts and never looked back. An assured performance at the final table earned him another SCOOP title as well as $160,000.

With plenty more events left to contest it could be a record breaking series for the Swedish superstar.

G in Poker Heaven

The world’s nose bleed players might be flocking to Macau at the moment but Tony G thinks he’s found and even more lucrative place to play. According to Tony the poker world’s newest nirvana is Minsk in Belarus.

His revelation comes after a recent trip to a game where: “The pots in PLO are so big you need pole vaulting skills to get over them and a bulldozer to scrape them into your stack.”

It seems Tony isn’t the only poker fan to have experienced the joys of poker in Minsk. The loud-mouth pro reportedly saw billionaire businessman and poker fanatic Andy Beal’s Ferrari outside the hotel.
