Pokerfarm Crush Poker Hispano Tour and claim Victory

The Poker Hispano tour came to San José Costa Rica last Sunday for a small series of events with the $1500 main event starting on Thursday with 101 runners.

From The Pokerfarm, myself ( Mark Grey), Elliott, John Hewitt ( 10th place in the WSOP Main Event 2011) and David Zeeman bought in and Craig Cole won a satellite to gain his seat at 6am on Thursday morning!

Amazingly, of the 5 of us, 4 made day two with John the only bust out late on day 1. On day 2 all 4 of us made the final 2 tables and only Dave missed out on the cash busting in 15th. Meanwhile Craig was building an enormous chip stack finishing the day and heading into the final table of 10 second in chips with 770k. First in chips was well known online pro and poker xfactor instructor Felipe 'improved' Montenegro who has now final tabled this event 3 years in a row. This is also Elliott's second final table and my second consecutive final after getting second in the PHT event #2 $300 for $5000. Final table chips looked like this :

Felipe Montenegro
904000

Craig Cole
776000

Alfredo Ulloa
234000

Elliot Peterman
204000

Gabriel Barboza
187000

Luis Jaíkel
182000

Mark Gray
174000

Giuseppe Ruso
173000

Jorge Chacón
141000

Javier Molina
68000

I was able to chip up nicely without showdown reshipping on Felipe and stealing the nit's blinds whilst Elliott managed to double with QQ vs. 89s AIPF ( all in pre flop). Meanwhile Craig blinded down a bit. Felipe was getting visibly frustrated by my aggression and the fact that the short stackers were shoving over his raises and ended up tilt calling a shove with JQo ! So 6 handed every player had about 500,000.

Elliott went out 6th when I flopped a set with 99 vs. his AA and he called my over bet ship on the river on a 96376 board and won $8736.

With my chip lead I was able to really push the table around and blind everybody down until Felipe shoved the Button with A2 and Craig reshipped 88 and won on a TJ2TT board.

With four players left Craig and I were a lot more experienced and more aggressive poker players than the other two and basically took it in turns to steal the other two blinds whilst they blinded away. 4th place was eliminated by Craig ( forget how) then 3 handed the short stack didn't have much of a chance although he did get in AJ vs. my AK and the board ran out 4779 J. The home crowd erupted as though he had won the whole thing ! Despite doubling up to just 15 big blinds.

Eventually his AT couldn't beat AJ AIPF and Craig I were heads up and about even in chips playing for the trophy, first prize money of $50,204 plus a seat to the next Poker Hispano tour series which will likely be in Panama in January. It lasted a while with both of us winning pots before my TT beat his A9 AIPF to get him really short. He then doubled with KTs vs. Q3s AIPF, then came the final hand. I completed from he small, he checked his option. The flop came 679, he check raised I shoved and he called. He showed 67 for bottom two I showed AK, oops. The turn came an Ace giving me 8 outs and the river came a K giving me the win!
